Cayenta, a division of Harris; is seeking a Technical Consultant who will join our dynamic Managed Services & Technical Operations team.The role is to play a role in progressing our managed services and technical operations strategy.We're seeking a consultant with a proven track record of managing ERP/CIS systems in on-premises and/or cloud environments. Experience with database solutions, automation tools, and scripting is highly desirable.You will play a critical role in maintaining highly available ERP/CIS systems, ensuring reliability, security, and stability. This role will collaborate closely with other team members and departments within Cayenta to deliver robust and efficient solutions.You will report to the Manager, Managed Services & Technical Operations, with a preference for candidates based in Canada.This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in Canada and the US. Candidates should be comfortable using AI enabled technologies, including copilots, chat based AI assistants, and automation tools, as part of their everyday work while maintaining appropriate judgment, security, and compliance standards.What your impact will be:Manage multiple ERP or customer information systems simultaneously as the primary or secondary consultant (primarily on-prem customers to start, and then Azure)System and database administration (SQL Server), some OracleEnsure customer environment uptime is maintained through proactive management and maintenance of the customer environmentTroubleshooting and ad-hoc support (issue triage and resolution, tracking via ticketing system) and regular administration tasks (product releases, patching, updates)Be part of 24x7 on-call rotation, when requiredPerform weekend activities, when requiredBuild productive, long-term relationships with customers and ensure customer satisfaction levels are maintainedDeliver monthly reports containing key and relevant details about the system, when requiredOnce support for on-prem customers is established, eventually support or co-lead complex implementation projects on Azure as followsHelp maintain highly available cloud infrastructure solutions on Azure (Linux virtual machines, database services, securing network security groups)Help maintain Microsoft Azure virtual machines and services (single sign-on, storage, key vault)Help ensure all cloud infrastructure is administered with emphasis on availability, reliability, security, and scalabilityBe proactive and help develop automation tools and scripts for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance on AzureHelp configure, maintain, monitor, and administer Windows Server or Desktop Operating SystemsCo-lead or support disaster recovery systems for AzureManage user permissions, single sign-on and password management, Active Directory group policy or Microsoft Azure policies (such as conditional access)Other tasks includeCreate, update, and improve internal documentation and guidesAttend daily team calls for delivery, deployment, and improvement of servicesPrepare and participate in knowledge transfer and training sessions with other team members and staffWork with other members of the Managed Services team, Cayenta support, business intelligence, and development groups to identify and resolve problemsContribute to internal projects as neededWhat we are looking for:3 or more years of technical support, system administration, or managed services experience or educationExperience or solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL ServerSome experience or knowledge of AzureFlexibility to work on weekends (either Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday), when requiredTeam player, capable of working as part of a team and independently with minimal supervisionPassion for providing excellent customer service and experienceDesire to look for opportunities to continually improveTakes initiative and enjoys learning through self-study and collaborative teamworkStrong analytical skills and technical acumenExperience with Apache Tomcat, Tomcat hardening, and SSL certificatesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong time-management skills to meet competing deadlinesExperience using Jira, TeamSupport, or equivalent toolsWhat would make you stand out:Experience with managed servicesExperience with both Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle administrationCertifications such as CompTIA+, Network+, Security+, AZ-104, or AZ-305Experience with cloud services and virtualization technologiesStrong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical usersExperience with scripting and a
