The Role at a Glance
We are excited to bring on a Claims Examiner II to our Permanent Disability Management Unit to work with our Omaha based office.The Permanent Disability Management Unit (PDMU) continues to evolve over the years and has become an integral part of the Long Term Disability claim process. Claims transitioning from initial Long Term Disability phase and deemed to have severe or progressive diagnoses are then transferred to the PDMU Team for ongoing evaluation and review.
As a Claim Examiner II of the PDMU Team, you will continue management of these approved Long Term Disability claims. Everything from ensuring the correct benefits are issued timely to updating medical conditions and so much more. You will be working with a veteran team of experienced claim examiners who all pitch in and contribute to our team's success. What you do here is important to the claimants we serve and vital to Lincoln Financial Group. What you'll be doing
You will provide customer service to internal and/or external stakeholders, recognizes what needs to be done to meet customer needs and demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness to meet customer needs on routine work independently.
You will recognize issues or concerns for assigned area(s) of responsibility, explains effect on the customer's service experience, and suggests process improvements.
You will support and promote change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
You will review increasingly complex submitted claim information for payment. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of submitted claims. Escalates claims issues/concerns to senior team members and/or management.
You will process increasingly complex partial disability claims for payment or denial in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, in a timely manner and meeting departmental quality/production standards. Also, reviews and provides specific information to increasingly complex questions/concerns from internal/external stakeholders (e.g. internal partners, policyholders, brokers, etc.) by applying expended knowledge.
